John Raible has an incredible series of thought-provoking posts. You can read them at the links below:
John is one of my favorite peoples. He's been a shining example for me. I remember the first time I saw "Struggle for Identity" and I was blown away by the way he seemed to articulate so much of my own feelings and thoughts about adoption. If you don't have the chance to see Struggle for Identity, you can still benefit from his blog. Go read it!!
John Raible is brilliant – smart as hell, and so skilled at getting at the core of things that, even after years of working in higher ed among people outstanding in their fields, I have gotten all tongue-tied, like a school girl with a crush, when I’ve been around him at conferences. Seriously. If you haven’t yet done so, check out the blog in its entirety.
Wow, thanks for linking his blog. I’ve been having a good look at it, and he has some wonderful insights! He says things very well.
Jae Ran,
Thanks for linking to John’s posts! I watched Struggle for Identity as part of my mandatory training prior to becoming an adoptive parent and it was a valuable introduction. Later, I met John. I am looking forward to seeing him again at Pact Camp 2009.
Registration info for intersted adoptive parents is here http://www.pactadopt.org/events/campguests.html
