Wow. The whole focus is on Emma–of course–with one comment from Tindy about going from hell to heaven in three years. There’s a remarkable story here, but it’s not in this article. Instead we get way too much information about how Tindy “helped” Emma T, too, because of all her failed IVFs. But I can’t see comparing Rwandan genocide with the infertility struggles of a British movie star. (By the way, I don’t blame Emma for the point of view on display in this article.) Here are some of the questions I’d like to hear Tindy answer: What’s it like becoming part of a privileged white family? Does your adoptive family feel like just a “surrogate” (one of many terms used in the article)? How do you make meaning out of going from hell to heaven?
Well, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by the whole “saved” from “life of unimaginable hardship” memes. If you read between the lines of the article, it sounds like Tindy saved himself. Sigh.
